Top Saturday Night Live sketches

Saturday Night Live, popularly known as SNL, is American late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show. It is known for its hilarious parodies on current affairs and contemporary culture. This list, in no particular order, intends to document my favourite SNL sketches. The list will be updated on a periodic basis as and when a new video enters the list.

Soccer Broadcast

Idris Elba plays an injured soccer (football for the rest of the world) player who joins the broadcast team as a pundit, and plays an unthinking character who says the first thing on his mind. The sketch is funny as Elba plays the role of a stereotyped football player who is not particularly intelligent nor eloquent.

E-Sports Reporter

Chance the Rapper plays a reporter who normally covers basketball games, but has been asked to fill in for the regular reporter of e-sports events who is taking his SATs. Chance perfectly plays the character who is confused about the event and the attendees, and the sketch hilariously portrays the stereotypes of e-sports events and gamers.

Sports Announcer

Chance the Rapper again plays the role of a reporter who normally covers basketball games, but has to step in for a reporter who covers ice hockey. Chance's portrayal is hilarious as he does not understand the game and is used to a more temperate climate than the cold he is asked to do this job in.

Earthquake news report

Mikey Day plays a reporter who is at the scene of a legal change of name building collapse following an earthquake. He encounters some very funny characters who were at the office to get their names changed. The puns on the names of the characters are the most hilarious part of this sketch.

Episode 1 One of the first things that stood out in the first few moments of the episode was the existence of Krupa , who is of Indian origin. I immediately knew that I was going to back her. The opening of the episode was sensational, as all the chefs were taken to a theater, where they got their hair and make-up done, and it appeared as if they would be revealed and introduced to a massive audience who would be excited to see them. As the excitement built up and the curtains were opened, the contestants stared at an empty theater, where Gordon Ramsey berated them about how none of them were superstars, and that they should not have expected to be introduced to a large audience. After the contestants were asked to get to the kitchen and cook their signature dishes, we got to see the attitude of some of the contestants, and also got to hear some initial remarks about each contestant from Gordon.
